Jaci's first dip in the pool. I was so excited about buying her first swim suit...but low and behold, I skipped out on Target last time we were in Midland becuase I just new I could find one in Hondo---NOPE! So she had to go in her skivvies. {I know what you are thinking Grandma...don't buy her a swimsuit :) } She was so laid back...of course, this whole bit was way more for Glen and me, but we think she had a good time, too!
Hmmmm....this is a large body of water....
Now, if you made it through all those pictures....here are my questions...
I've done tons of reading and every resource is different...so, when in doubt ask the people who have some experience!
When did you start solid foods for your little one?...vote in the poll and/or leave a comment!!
What did you start on?....vote/comment

Solid foods: 5.5 months - rice cereal mixed with breastmilk...we had cereal for about a month then added veggies and then fruits, one at a time. I think carrots were the first.
I know that Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled to pieces with this visit. There just isn't anything like grandkids!
Approx. 6 months. Started with rice cereal mixed with water, sometimes a little fruit for flavoring. They each had a great time mooshing it around. Most of it landed on their lips and we shovelled it back in. After they got the hang of eating out of a spoon, I alternately added a new vegetable or a new fruit every week. Green beans was the first veggie and peaches were the first fruit. :) Great pics!
Don't forget she met Uncle Scott too!
Check out wholesomebabyfood.com great info! Also got some great recipe ideas from "Baby Love" book.
I missed the poll, but someone once told me the theory of not feeding them until they can feed themselves & I liked that idea. Plus, all her nutrients come from breastmilk anyway. SO...we didn't start solids until 8 or 9 months & I never did cereal, it just didn't make sense to me. (its not wrong or bad though) I mostly started with vegetables cooked and cut up really small. (never made baby food per say). And I might add that Liv didn't get teeth until she was 11/12 months. That is just what made sense and worked for me though.
